One of the most important and helpful things you can do as a Member is to make sure that we have your most up-to-date contact information on file. Updated phone numbers, addresses, and emails are the first step in ensuring the highest level of security we can.

Scam Alerts and How to Protect Yourself

  • Spoofing scams occur when fraudsters disguise their phone number, email, or text to appear as legitimate, often alerting you to fake “suspicious activity” to steal credentials, PINs, or 2FA codes.
  • These callers create panic, urging immediate action, but genuine employees will never ask for your password, PIN, or sensitive, one-time passcodes over the phone or text.

Take steps to protect yourself

  • Hang up Immediately: If you receive a call that appears to be from Gates Chili FCU and the caller asks for personal or account information, end the call right away.
  • Verify the Call: If you are concerned about a legitimate issue with your account, call Gates Chili FCU at 585.247.1090. Never call any phone number provided by a suspicious caller.
  • Be Skeptical: If a caller creates a sense of urgency with repercussions if you don’t provide information, it is a scam. Take your time, stay calm, and verify the call.
  • Do Not Click Links: Be cautious of text messages or emails that accompany a suspicious call. Do not click on the links they provide.
  • What to Do if You’ve Shared Information: If you believe you have been a victim of this scam and have already provided personal information, please call Gates Chili FCU right away at 585.247.1090. We are here to help you secure your accounts and prevent further unauthorized activity.

Online and mobile banking provides a safe and secure environment for our members, using the latest in encryption and security.

  • Do not share your personal information with anyone.
  • Gates Chili FCU will never ask you to confirm account information via email link or text message.

Mastercard Debit and Visa Credit Cards

  • Our debit and credit cards are actively monitored for suspicious activity. If any is detected, we will call to confirm your card is in your possession and that you are the person using it. We may block your card to protect you if we are aware of a significant threat.
  • If you have lost your card, or it has been stolen, please refer to our Contact Us page for information on reporting it.
  • If you will be traveling, please contact us before you go, so that we can make note in our records to limit the risk of card interruption.
